Dear WDLT Families,

WDLT has been proudly producing children’s theater in South Jersey since 1973.  COVID-19 may be shutting down schools and other programs nationwide, but we are determined to keep children’s theater and WDLT alive during this unprecedented time.

We had held out hope that social distancing guidelines would evolve, allowing us to proceed as normal. But sadly, that does not seem to be the case just yet.  At this time, we would like to announce that WDLT will offer a remote, online theater camp for the summer of 2020.  This will allow us to stay connected with our members while providing theater experiences in a safe way.

A brief description of our program offering is outlined below.  Please understand we are early in the development of this concept, and we’ll announce more details as they are established.  Should New Jersey update its social distancing guidelines by a feasible date to make changes, we will revisit the idea of producing live shows.  But for now, this online theater approach will be our primary focus in the coming weeks.

The main ideas of “WDLT Online” are as follows:

The program will run three days a week (Tue-Thu) for four weeks. The first day will be Tuesday, July 7th and the last day is Thursday, July 30th. That is a total of twelve camp days.
Registrants will be broken into three age groups (K-4th grade, 5th-8th grade, 9th grade – age 18), but we are NOT casting shows and rehearsing for a live production. The age breakdowns will help us deliver content at the appropriate level for each member.
Each age group will be scheduled for two, 45-minute “sessions” a day (x 12 days = 24 sessions). The schedule will run as follows:
Session 1: 10:00am-10:45am
Session 2: 11:30am-12:15pm
These sessions will be delivered live through Zoom or similar video chat software, led by our summer theater staff.  Members will receive weekly links and a schedule.
Our sessions will focus on major theatre concepts (acting, singing, dancing, production).  We are in the early stages of developing our curriculum, so stay tuned for more!
No audition is required this year.  Just register and you’re set!
It is our hope that this program will give our members a way to connect with their friends, stay active in theater, and learn some new things to hone their skills. We know this isn’t ideal, and realize our kids look forward to spending weeks with their friends each summer.  We can’t wait to get back together in person, but for now we will “Make Our Own Sunshine” by utilizing the tools we have.

We are asking everyone to please register by JUNE 1ST.  This will allow us to put the finishing touches on our class offerings.  If you have already registered, please email Kelly before going any further at If you have not registered yet and would like to register please  click the link below

Thank you for helping to keep WDLT and summer children’s theater alive!
